Fin collar outside diameter (d_c)는 핀의 깃(collar)까지 포함한 직경을 말한다. 즉, d_c = d_o + 2*f_t  

number of tube row는 공기 유동방향에 있어 몇번째 tube인지를 나타낸다. 예를 들어, 아래와 같은 그림에서는 tube row는 3까지 있다.  

number of tube pass per row(Tube per row)는 하나의 row에 몇개의 tube가 존재하는지를 나타낸다.

만약 NTU값을 구한다면, 열교환 형태에 따라 유용도(effectiveness)를 구해야한다. 

보통 핀튜브 열교환기의 경우, fin이 공기가 mixed되는 것을 막아주기 때문에 공기의 유동은 cross-flow이므로 unmixed로 분류한다. 

만약에 핀이 존재하지 않는 배관(튜브)의 NTU 값은 아래와 같이 cross-flow(mixed)에 해당하는 표의 값을 읽는다.
