판형열교환기 Chevron angle, enlargement factor

판형열교환기(PHE, plate heat exchanger)는 금속 plate를 적층해서 만드는 열교환기이므로, 

열교환이 일어나는 금속 plate 설계를 어찌 하느냐에 따라 열교환 성능이 좌우됨

Dh = hydraulic diameter; Ac = area of channel per each fluid)

판형열교환기 설계에서 주로 언급되는 용어에 대해 알아보자 

1. Chevron angle, β

판의 굴곡(corrugated furrows)이 중심축으로부터 기울어진 각도를 쉐브론 각도라고 하며, 22도에서 65도 수준으로 설계함. 

쉐브론 각도가 0이라면, 중심축과 일치하는 세로방향이 되는 것이고, 쉐브론 각도가 90도가 된다는 것은 가로방향으로 판이 굽이난 형태이다. 

판형 열교환기를 구성할 때, 쉐브론 각도가 동일한 두개의 판을 활용하는 경우(symmetric β)도 있지만 

다른 쉐브론 각도의 판을 조합하는 경우(mixed β)도 있다. 

2. Corrugation pitch, λ

굴곡 간의 거리를 뜻함

3. Enlargement factor, Φ

판의 굴곡을 따라 측정한 developed length 발달길이와 Protracted length 투사길이의 비율을 말한다. 

즉, enlargement factor의 값이 1이면 완전 평평한 상태를 말하며, 1보다 커질수록 굴곡이 심해진다고 말할 수 있다.
